China: HSBC PMI up at 49.3 vs 48.3

FITITOL--> FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - HSBC China's manufacturing sector performance increased in April, with the final number coming at 49.3 from a preliminary 49.1 and improved from a 48.3 in March.

The number suggests China is slowing its decline in activity compared to March. The manufacturing output index remains nonetheless below the neutral mark at 50, which separates growth from contraction in activity. Overall new orders and new export orders outweighed in April, according to the report.

The HSBC index, in comparisson to the NBS China Manufacturing PMI published yesterday, targets smaller private companies. The Australian Dollar is seeing very modest gains after the release.
